during our time with the watchtower bible & tract society, we were never instructed in this critical life skill.

those of us who did not persue "higher education" because it was discouraged or forbidden may also never had had an opportunity to consider this information.

Sounds like sound advice to me.

Although, I don't think America has a corner on belief in the paranormal.

We do produce our share of fodder for the brain dead. Such as Sylvia Brown, Miss Cleo, Binny Hinn, and now the pet psycic.

Critical thinking skills are needed taught in our schools, or by parents, where that is lacking..

a judge awarded vicki boer $5,000 in june.

she claimed in a civil suit that elders told her not to seek outside help or report the alleged abuse.

no no criminal charges were laid in the assault allegations.

Amazing,

You are mistaken. In US courts, each party must typically pay their own expenses. There are certain types of suits that automatically award attorneys fees for the plaintiff, but they are rare.

You can always ask the judge for an award, but often as not, it is not given.

WT Books Going Missing

i recently visited my local library looking for books on jws.

checking the computer system i found that pretty much all the 'anti' books had been marked as 'lost'.

Sorry for posting again like this, but...

This makes me think of people who see written books as obsolete.

Remeber the post, where someone had a bunch of JW books, and wanted to burn them?

Well, JW's dont trust computers, Cd's, etc,

They will outright say they have been modified, if moved to that format.

PLEASE SAVE THE BOOKS!!!!

Those who are in doubt need to see the real thing, copyright and all.

They will accuse us of ''changing things'' if not in the original form.....Those books are precious for future references!!!

My husband wanted to join the Mason's a few years ago, and I took it upon myself to ''study up'', as the wife must give her permission for a husband to join.

I went to the Bloomington Indiana Library, just steps away from the I.U. Campus, which prides itself on its liberality.(They just in the last week, refused federal funding, because they refused to use filters on the internet)

Anyway, all the books on Freemasonry were missing, with no expaination. I pointed out that they were not listed on the computerized system as ''checked out''.

Apparently all books on said subject were missing....

The librarians were quite shocked, and concerned...

So easy to steal from libraries, evidently. How 'bout those anti theft devices used for CD's??

what kind of an example are we setting for young witness girls regarding modesty?

i personally think she looks nice, although maybe she should try for some darker colors; but because of her jw affiliation, it justs makes one stagger at the double standards.

I saw her on the late show the other night. She is quite charming.

She designs her own dresses, and has her own line, mostly this sorta thing, for hollywood elites, etc..

Also, I think the reason the dubs never publically reprove this type of celebrity, is because they are using them as examples of how ''allowing, and uncontrolling''they are...

well, we had a grand old time yesterday dakota red kindly offered his home for our mini-fest, and what started off as a little party for searcher (our uk guest of honor) became somewhat more than that .

in alphabetical order, our group included: bikerchic, blueyes, bruce and dorian baker, buster and wifey, carmel, dakota red, goshawk, lost diamond, onacruse, princess and steve (and steve's mom and a family friend), searcher, seven006, songmistress, and veniceit.. carmel brought some delicious salmon for the barbie, and we even got searcher to have a taste.

we overlooked the fact that brits prefer to eat fish in the form of fish and chips searcher and songmistress--when we brought out the cake, everything was fine until somebody started to sing happy birthday...the words just sorta stuck in our throats, and we looked around at each other like a bunch of dubbies lolololol.
